Before NUTOFA my groundnuts went for half price. Now I sell at the proper rate and borrow against my savings when school fees come.
Member-owned in Northern Uganda since 2018. We save together, we hire tractors together, and we run mechanization services at member rates.
We are a savings and credit cooperative based in Gulu, registered under Uganda’s Co-operative Societies Act in 2022 and licensed as a Tier 4 SACCO. We bring the whole mechanization value chain under one roof: tractor and land-clearance owners, operators, mechanics, agro-input and equipment dealers, agro-processors, off-takers, farmer groups, financial and insurance institutions, and development partners.
We save together, we borrow against our savings, and we run shared mechanization services, with demonstration sites at Patiko and Lakang. We work across Acholi, Lango, Karamoja and West Nile.
Tractor and implement hire from the member fleet. Land opening, ploughing, harrowing, ridging, threshing.
Compulsory and voluntary savings. Five loan products. A loan ceiling of three times your savings.
Operator certification, mechanic refresher cycles, and tractor-as-a-business courses run by the cooperative.
We broker tractor and implement purchases through vetted dealers and arrange structured asset finance.
Bulking, off-take agreements and pricing support. We help members sell at fair rates, not at the gate.
Emergency credit for medical, school fees and bereavement. Group-based social protection for paid-up members.
We are building a year-round service: tractors, implements, threshing, drying and storage, with demonstration sites at Patiko and Lakang.
Revenue from contract services pays operators, maintains the fleet, and is shared back to members as dividends.
The cooperative fleet
Planters, sprayers, spreaders, trailers and a mounted crane complete the set. What the fleet lacks, we source through members and partners. Members book through the secretariat at member rates.
On 19 June 2026 the cooperative received three Kubota diesel tractors and a full set of implements, financed through a Murabaha investment facility from the Microfinance Support Centre under the Government of Uganda mechanization support. The stakeholder handover followed on 25 June at our Anaka office in Nwoya, so tillage services can roll out this second season.
